I burnished this for all I was worth and fired to ^08. Alas, no mica sparkles. What did I do wrong?

Did you ever figure out how to get the sparkles? What cone did you fire to? Have you tried the white mica clay? I'm experimenting with my first bags of white and red but have not fired yet. Thanks.
