I forgot to figure out how to quilt this before I made it

The colors are a bit off and it hasn't been blocked. It's a square of 100% cotton and I used fabric ink for the words. I then used fabric paint for the eye.

I wanted to make a small quilt based on a vision I saw. I used purple to denote healing and the quilt's called: Eye Of The Storm. Now I have this piece and no idea how to quilt it. I welcome all suggestions. Thanks for the input.

Oh, wow, this is gorgeous, Deb! I suggest a needle with a big eye, thick embroidery thread, and erratic stitches that accidentally blot out some letters. But that's just me. I think everything looks better quilted that way. Mary Jo

Deb, you could do straight lines under the words to look like lines on foolscap. That would give texture to the background. I would probably just outline quilt the design in the cntre......that would make it look somewhat trapunto ed and make the design stand out. you could even put some xtra batt behind the design to encourage that effect if that's what you want to do.

I agree with May - although I would hand sew with a lighter thread that blends with the background - seed stitches. I wouldn't want to detract or compete with the words. If I went crazy with heavy embroidery thread it would be to highlight the eye.

looks to be a nice piece.
